Kansas City Radio stations team up to fight hunger Cumulus Media Stations & Feed The Children Combine To Feed Families
KANSAS CITY, MO (July 25, 2007) – International hunger relief organization Feed The Children and the Cumulus Media Partners group of Kansas City teamed up to provide food and personal care items to needy families on Saturday, July 28th.
Feed The Children partner agency Operation Breakthrough pre-identified the 800 families who received a 25-pound box of food and a box of personal care items. The event was made possible by an all-day radio event held on the six Cumulus Radio Stations that raised over $80,000 for the distribution. Radio personalities and Operation Breakthrough volunteers worked together to distribute the food boxes and personal care items that arrived on two huge semi trucks that morning.
“It’s an honor to work with such a highly regarded organization like Feed the Children,” said Cumulus Media Partners Operations Manager Maurice DeVoe. “I have seen the great things these guys have done in communities across the country. Now working with them to feed Kansas City families in need – we couldn’t be happier.”
